The APECS Book Club meets for an online reading of a wonderful memoir:

A Woman in the Polar Night (Christiane Ritter)

We will meet on March 26th at 4PM CET / 3PM GMT to discuss this powerful memoir that takes us to a remote trapping station in Svalbard in the 1930s. With no prior experience of polar life, Ritter followed her husband into the Arctic and documented her journey through fear, isolation, darkness and wonder.

APECS Book Club is a joint partnership event hosted by APECS Luxembourg, UK Polar Network and APECS Netherlands** . APECS members and ECR’s from all other countries are of course welcome to join us to read and discuss this book – we look forward to seeing new faces joining us in 2026!
