What’s the work that you do?
My work focuses on Antarctic governance, including participation in public policy formulation, interinstitutional coordination, and the implementation of international commitments within the framework of the Antarctic Treaty System. I also contribute to strengthening international scientific cooperation and to the development of initiatives aimed at protecting the Antarctic environment, as well as reinforcing Peru’s role as a Consultative Party to the Antarctic Treaty.
What keeps you going?
I am motivated by working on the protection of Antarctica, a harsh and inhospitable continent that is also full of opportunities for science and global knowledge. I am interested in contributing to its preservation as a space dedicated to peace and research, ensuring that human activities are carried out in a responsible and sustainable manner. Additionally, I value the opportunity to contribute, from the perspective of International Law and public management, to strengthening Antarctic governance and Peru’s role in this unique setting.
What’s your message to the world?
My message to the world is that we must value and protect scientific knowledge as an essential legacy for future generations. Antarctica shows us that science is key to understanding our planet and making responsible decisions in the face of global challenges. Investing in research, international cooperation, and the preservation of these unique environments is a shared responsibility that will shape the future of humanity.
