Stronger Together: Resilient Futures for Youth in Sápmi

Saturday, 17 January 2026 — Online, then in-person

Open Call for Youth Participants – apply by 5 January 2026.

“Stronger Together – Resilient Futures for Youth in Sápmi”

Arctic Youth Network (AYN) is inviting youth from Sápmi and across the Arctic to apply for participation in our upcoming initiative addressing the accelerating impacts of climate change on Sámi communities.

Why this matters: Forest fires, biodiversity loss, disrupted livelihoods, and maladaptive “green” infrastructure are creating new climate tipping points that threaten both ecological stability and Sámi cultural continuity. Despite being on the frontlines, young people are too often excluded from emergency preparedness conversations.

Upcoming event: AYN will host a digital workshop in January — “Reframing the Climate Emergency: Sámi Youth Perspectives on Climate Tipping Points.” The session will include a keynote address, panel discussion, and interactive youth workshops that will prepare an in-person gathering later in this initiative.
