Nominations for the Australian Antarctic Medal are now open!
This prestigious award recognises individuals who have delivered outstanding service – beyond the normal requirements of their role – in scientific research, exploration or support of Australia’s Antarctic program.
Eligible nominees include those who:
Have spent at least 12 months in Antarctica (cumulative), including areas south of 60°S or other locations where Antarctic conditions prevail;
Given outstanding service in scientific research, exploration or in support of such work as part of Australia’s Antarctic Program – either through an Australian Antarctic expedition or one that included representation of an Australian government agency or institution
